Welcome back to Talk of the Town, a weekly link-up I am co-hosting with Shaz from Jera’s Jamboree. We’d love you to share your book related blog posts with us. Please visit my Talk of the Town page if you are unsure of how a link-up works. We are looking forward to reading your blog posts.
And just like that, the first month of the year is gone! January basically just passed us by – surely this was the quickest month ever. It’s been a very quiet few weeks reading wise for me, but instead I had lots of cuddles with our new baby girl. Holding her in my arms when she drifts off to sleep and holding a book at the same time is a little challenging. No doubt, I’ll use my Kindle a lot more in the coming weeks.
For this week’s #ToTT, I am sharing our thoughts on My First Mog Books.
This series comes in a pack of 4 little books. Our oldest daughter has been a fan of Mog books for quite some time and especially since watching the Sainsbury’s Christmas advert from a few years ago :-).
We bought these books for her a few week’s back. These are obviously aimed at a much younger audience, but we thought they were ideal as her first reading books. She started school in September and really enjoys being able to read books with simple wording by herself and these books are perfect for this purpose. The language is easy and there are only a few words per page.
She has read these books a few times (and to be fair, she knows them off by heart now – but still, intially she figured out all the words by herself) and very much likes reading them out aloud to her baby sister.
This little book pack really is fantastic for toddlers or for older children who are just starting to read. The illustrations are expressive. It’s quite surprising how much of a story can be told from such a short length. They’ve definitely earned a big thumps up from our family.
TALK OF THE TOWN is sponsored by Black and White Publishing who kindly support a monthly giveaway.
