Fun in the bath with Vital Baby

Ever since our oldest daughter was a baby, she has loved her time in the bath. Over the years, we have collected numerous bath toys or sometimes various shampoo bottles that we cannot get rid of as they’ve all been given names and are dear to her heart (Yes, she does have a lively imagination :-)).

We have recently been sent a few bath toys from Vital Baby in order to put them to the test. These made an immediate positive impact with our daughter, The first evening she tried them out, we couldn’t get her out of the bathtub for a good hour as she was happily playing with these new toys.

There really is a lot to love about these bath toys. First of all, they are extremely versatile. The Swim Rings can be used as single floats, be attached to form a ring or a long train. Our littlest daughter is completely fascinated by the vibrant colours of the bath toys. I know that when she is old enough for the big bath, she will also get hours of endless fun out ot these lovely toys. We also thought that the quality of these bathtub friends is excellent. We have had many squirty toys that were quite hard and therefore made it near enough impossible to get all the water out when taking them out of the tub and drying them. We had to throw many of these out as they started to mold on the inside. These Vital Baby Bath Toys, however, are a lot softer and so far we have not had any problems emptying them.

Our verdict: These toys have been a huge hit with our daughter and we would highly recommend them.

Disclaimer: We were sent the Swim Rings and the Stick and Slide Toy for review, but all thoughts and opinions are entirely our own.

Bing Baking – App Review and Giveaway

I’ve downloaded quite a few apps on my iPhone for our little girl to play with. I usually let her have my phone on longer car journeys or when I need some time to do things around the house or get ready etc. Recently, Team Bing got in contact regarding a new exciting project. In partnership with Aardman Animations, they developed Bing’s first ever app for smartphones and tablets – Bing Baking. My little girl very much enjoys watching Bing on TV and was super excited to try this new app.

This app is gorgeous! The animation is simply fantastic and extremely well developed. We love the bright, attractive colours, that are faithful to the Bing animation itself. The instructions are very clear and easy to understand for little ones. Our daughter needed no help from me at all, but started baking with Bing straight away. The children can roll out dough, use different cutting shapes to cut out the biscuits and then use different ingredients as toppings. As a last step, children are able to take pictures of their masterpieces. I must have at least 50 biscuit pictures on my phone by now :-). Our little girl loves this app and it keeps her busy for quite some time. This is an app, we can highly recommend. Bing Baking is available now.

As part of the Bing Baking App launch, the lovely people at Team Bing are giving one lucky person the chance to win a “My Friend Bing” toy. A second lucky winner will win a free download code for the Bing Baking app. The prizes will be sent to you directly from Team Bing. For your chance to be in with a chance to win one of these fantastic prizes, please use the Gleam widget below. Good luck!

Product Review: Lumie Brightspark – The Importance of Having Good Lighting at Work

The last couple of months have been absolutely manic for me at work and I found it harder and harder to concentrate. I felt sluggish, drained and exhausted. I work in an extremely busy office environment with many people, lots of computers and not the best lighting. Most evenings, I went home with a headache and literally collapsed on the sofa without being able to do anything productive in the evenings at all.

One day when I was scrolling through my Twitter feed, I came across a Workplace Wellbeing Trial Lumie was promoting and I knew straight away that I wanted to get involved in that. A few days later, I was kindly sent a Lumie Brightspark light by the company for my desk.

What is a Lumie Brightspark?

The Lumie Website ( describes it at follows: Brightspark is a small but powerful SAD lightbox, versatile for use at home or in the workplace.

Lightboxes treat the symptoms of SAD with summer levels of bright light. They lift mood, boost concentration and restore natural energy, useful for work productivity, sports training, women’s health, and many other conditions.

I did not expect any wonders, but only after a few days using this desk light instead of my much darker original one, I noticed some differences. I found concentrating much easier (I still get a low point at some stage during the day, but I try and leave my desk then and take a few minutes breather). The headaches are not completely gone, but have definitely been reduced. I never knew that excellent lighting could improve my mood and general wellbeing a lot.

What I love most about Lumie Brightspark

  • My mood is lifted
  • My concentration is so much better
  • I don’t feel as tired anymore when I finish work
  • I experience less headaches
  • The design – not as “boring” as a traditional desk lamp, but really slender and modern

I will definitely keep on using my Brightspark desklight and can highly recommend this product.
